To ensure the highest possible quality care, our Residence Manager oversees a team of dedicated and qualified care professionals, including a Clinical Care Coordinator, nurses and personal carers.
Our care model is flexible and responsive to individual care needs even as they change, including the provision of specialised nursing care and palliative care if needed. This person-centred approach is designed to support each resident to maintain their dignity and independence wherever possible.
We are committed to consistency and quality of care and implemented an initiative in 2016 to reduce (and ultimately cease) use of agency staff in our residences. This means our nurses and carers are regular staff who know the residents and are familiar with their needs and preferences.
We also work with a range of partners on programs to support social, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing to ensure the best overall health outcomes for each resident.
LifestyleAt BlueCross Willowmeade, your health and wellbeing is always our priority and as such we offer you a diverse program of leisure and lifestyle activities and therapies, including chair aerobics, newspaper reading groups, movies and outings.
For those who like to keep busy, the expansive Rutledge Room is where the Men's Shed, ladies' groups and other residents gather to work on art and craft projects, enjoy cooking classes, word games, bingo, bocce, ballroom dancing and other activities.
In the men's gym, there's the opportunity to use traditional gym-based routines and equipment such as hand weights, thera-bands and steps.
Nature lovers at BlueCross Willowmeade will enjoy the persimmon trees, vegetable beds, benches, walking paths and artistic fountain in the outdoor courtyards, or simply lingering in the lovely outdoor spaces in the gentle company of the resident cat, Hilary.
BlueCross Willowmeade's on-site chef Kate Brown, was the winner of the 2013 Australian Aged Care Chef Manager of the Year, and you can look forward to being served a range of delicious and nutritionally-balanced meals in our dining rooms every day.
When happy hour strikes at Willowmeade, Bonnie's Bar is the place to share a few beers, cocktails and even freshly brewed coffee with friends, and enjoy lively karaoke and piano sing-a-longs in the nearby sitting area.
If you prefer being pampered, you'll enjoy hair dressing services in the hair salon and indulgent treatments in the beauty parlour at an additional cost.
