BlueCross Monterey is a recently renovated multi-level home providing quality permanent & respite care to 113 residents.

At BlueCross Monterey, caring for you is our priority. Our team includes registered nurses and qualified personal carers, who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are committed to best practice, ensuring personalised care for each and every resident.

Situated in the heart of Glenroy in Melbourne's north. Close to local shops, the RSL club and other amenities. Public transport right outside Monterey's gates means the shopping and social hubs of Westfield Airport West, DFO Essendon, and the CBD are within easy reach.

BlueCross Monterey offers 113 rooms, all of which feature a private ensuite, high-quality fittings and furnishings. The rooms range from Standard to Superior and Deluxe, including oversized rooms or interconnecting rooms suitable for couples. Rooms may have views or the gardens or private courtyards, and some offer direct courtyard access.

To ensure the highest possible quality care, our Residence Manager oversees a team of dedicated and qualified care professionals, including a Clinical Care Coordinator, nurses and personal carers.

Our care model is flexible and responsive to individual care needs even as they change, including the provision of specialised nursing care and palliative care if needed. This person-centred approach is designed to support each resident to maintain their dignity and independence wherever possible.

We are committed to consistency and quality of care and implemented an initiative in 2016 to reduce (and ultimately cease) use of agency staff in our residences. This means our nurses and carers are regular staff who know the residents and are familiar with their needs and preferences.

We also work with a range of partners on programs to support social, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing to ensure the best overall health outcomes for each resident.


Our leisure and lifestyle team meet with each resident to learn about their interests, and then incorporate these into the daily activity calendar. Our staff provide a holistic approach to care and services, inviting and including members of the wider community into the lifestyle program at BlueCross Monterey.

Activities take place all over the residence including the courtyards, sitting rooms, men's shed and activities area. We also offer an art and craft room where our residents can flex your creative muscles and contribute towards the works on display.

Our awarding winning Men's Shed holds group activities, giving our residents the chance to tinker away at carpentry projects and swap ideas.

Visitors are also an important part of our resident's lives, we want to make visits enjoyable and convenient. Visitors are welcome to join residents for a meal, for activities, to come along for special events, or simply to pop in whenever it suits for a tea or coffee.

BlueCross Monterey has an onsite chef preparing homemade, fresh and nutritious meals using seasonal produce.

Hairdressing and Beauty services are available on site. Allied Health services are also available at our facilities. These services in-cure additional costs.
