BlueCross Glengowrie is perched on two quiet acres in suburban Glenroy close to local amenities, the Glenroy RSL club and a plethora of shopping centres.
A modern residence, Glengowrie provides 90 places for people with low care and dementia care needs. Our warm and inviting décor and centrally controlled climate infuse it with a community ambience, while the names of its common areas – Wattle, Banksia, Melaleuca, Acacia and Silvergum – evoke the beauty of the Australian bush.
Our registered nurses, personal care attendants and residential services staff are well-trained and attentive to your individual and changing needs.
We invite you to come and be a part of our safe, caring and close-knit community at Glengowrie.
Quality aged care and social lifestyle in the heart of Glenroy
BlueCross Glengowrie features several open plan lounges, dining rooms, and residential wings separated by landscaped gardens and courtyards.
You don’t have to venture far to enjoy your comforts at Glengowrie, with a number of intimate sitting rooms and self-service kitchenettes ideal for entertaining visitors or simply indulging in the views of the charming courtyards beyond.
The main lounge is a hive of activity, with a billiards table, flat screen television and piano for live music shows. For quieter moments, residents can settle in by the cosy gas-log fireplace, with a book from the well-stocked library.
BlueCross Glengowrie’s dementia specific wing has its own dining room and sitting areas, as well as a space where residents enjoy creating sensory art. A serene courtyard outside this wing also provides a large and secure area to enjoy walks and take in the natural beauty of the gardens.
BlueCross Glengowrie offers 90 rooms with Standard, Superior and Deluxe accommodation. Rooms may have views out to the surrounding streetscapes, private courtyards or landscaped gardens.
Descriptions of the three room types and the associated costs are detailed on the link below.

To ensure the highest possible quality care, our Residence Manager oversees a team of dedicated and qualified care professionals, including a Clinical Care Coordinator, nurses and personal carers.
Our care model is flexible and responsive to individual care needs even as they change, including the provision of specialised nursing care and palliative care if needed. This person-centred approach is designed to support each resident to maintain their dignity and independence wherever possible.
We are committed to consistency and quality of care and implemented an initiative in 2016 to reduce (and ultimately cease) use of agency staff in our residences. This means our nurses and carers are regular staff who know the residents and are familiar with their needs and preferences.
We also work with a range of partners on programs to support social, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing to ensure the best overall health outcomes for each resident.
BlueCross Glengowrie’s large leisure and lifestyle room holds bingo, coffee club, a weekly boutique for residents to do some shopping and a monthly ladies' and men's luncheon. Regular outings keep residents entertained and engaged with the community.
Our group exercise program keeps you active and moving, while our other activities help to maintain your mental wellbeing. See our award winning Men's Gym program in action here.
If quiet reflection is what you’re after, Glengowrie’s sun-dappled outdoor spaces have seats to relax in and soak in the sunshine, and there is a barbecue for outdoor cooking. Gardeners will enjoy pottering with the silverbeet and other edible plants in the raised vegetable garden.
At BlueCross Glengowrie, service and care doesn’t take a backseat. From our leisure and lifestyle program packed with activities to beauty therapy in our on-site salon and home-made and nutritious meals freshly prepared by our chef, we’re committed to your wellbeing.
Our award-winning pain clinic offers physiotherapy and pain management programs, while the dedicated men's gym gets the men socialising as much as they exercise.
The on-site chapel provides sanctuary as well as weekly church services, while a doctor’s consulting rooms are also conveniently located on-site.
BlueCross residences provide a high level of hotel services, with laundry, gardening, housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance all included.
