Student Placements

BlueCross supports student placements and provides a supportive environment to promote the students' learning experiences.

Who is eligible for a Student Placement?

Currently BlueCross offers placements to students who are studying

  • Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
  • Diploma of Nursing
    or
  • Bachelor of Nursing

How do I apply for a Student Placement?

BlueCross requires Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  their requests for student placements. Please include the following details.

  1. The number of students and course requiring placement.
  2. The length of placement.
  3. Preferred locations or residences
  4. Level of supervision provided to supervise and assess students.

 Individual students wishing to complete their placements with BlueCross are required to make the request via their RTO, we cannot accept individual applications.

We employ many people who have completed their placement with us.
We also employ people on a part-time or casual basis while they are completing their qualification.



Australian Catholic University & BlueCross initiative

BlueCross is pleased to work with the Australian Catholic University (ACU) to support students seeking to undertake training and practical placements as Personal Carers. The ACU is conducting Certificate III Individual Support education for those wanting to train as Personal Carers in aged care. The course will be conducted at ACU and the practical placements will be conducted at BlueCross aged care residences.

Course Schedule:

Pre training reviews   10.00am Tuesday 18th July 2017 
Enrolment                    9.30am Monday 24th July 2017
Commencement         2nd August 2017
Completion                 31 January 2018

Classes are conducted one full day per week and 2 half days per week.

Practical placement locations:
Designated BlueCross residences in Victoria.

Mayfield Education & BlueCross initiative

BlueCross is pleased to work with Mayfield Education to support students seeking to undertake training and practical placements as Personal Carers. Mayfield Education is conducting Certificate III Individual Support education for those wanting to train as Personal Carers in aged care. The course will be conducted at Mayfield Education and the practical placements will be conducted at BlueCross aged care residences. Mayfield Education is run by course coordinators with experience in health care, with many facilitators continuing to work in clinical areas bringing a wealth of expertise and knowledge to students. 

Upcoming information sessions - Certificate III Aged Care (Individual Support)

The following information sessions for prospective students will be held on campus at Mayfield Education, 2-10 Camberwell Rd Hawthorn East:

  • 10am, Monday 24th July
  • 9am, Wednesday 2nd August
