At BlueCross the old 'nursing homes' as we have known them have gone! Welcome to the new face of aged care.......

What is the secret to a LONG life?

Well 40 BlueCross residents and home care clients attended the 97th+ Birthday Celebrations and shared a very special day and told us a secret or two!

On 13 April, BlueCross invited all their residents and clients who are 97years or older to a birthday bash at Broughtonlea in Surrey Hills.  This special event is to celebrate 'ageing positively' and demonstrating a new way of providing aged care that keeps our elderly citizens active and enjoying life.

Carol Allen, BlueCross CEO says, "We also hold this event to recognise the contributions older Australians make to their communities and families.  They have helped shape modern Australia and continue to make significant contributions to society as they share a lifetime of skills, knowledge and experience."

Over the day it was an enriching experience for all those present watching life celebrated through the generations, mothers with daughters, fathers with sons, families with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  All there to toast their loved ones and to remind them that they are indeed very special individuals!
